Causalis Limited was founded by Peter Bernard Ladkin in 1998, and is registered in England and Wales, Company Number 3639514, Registered Office 20-22 Bedford Row, London WC1R 4JS.

German business for Causalis is conducted by Causalis Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH, Handelsregister Bielefeld HRB 42045.

We specialise in the analysis of complex safety- and security-critical systems, and develop leading-edge investigation methods such as Why-Because Analysis (WBA) and Ontological Hazard Analysis (OHA) as well as software utilities to support these methods.

Our experience lies mainly in investigation of failures in complex systems in aviation, rail, and marine environments and the development of safety requirements using formally-structured approaches. Causalis personnel engage in international standardisation work through the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
